The Joint Waste Strategy for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough. |

This partnership is comprised of all the Councils in Cambridgeshire as well as the Cambridgeshire County and Peterborough City all of whom have formed joint approaches to dealing with rubbish and increasing recycling.
During the past year we have consulted with the public over the waste strategy to determine how the residents of the area would like to see their rubbish handled and to get feedback on what improvements could made.
One of the questions we asked during the consultation regarded communication of the "recycling message" and how local Councils should keep their residents best informed. One of the key suggestions we received was to press the recycling message more at local community level.
As part of the communication process a strategy website, www.recap.co.uk, has been especially established for the public of Cambridgeshire and Peterborough to answer any questions they may have regarding waste and recycling in their area. Many changes will be happening in the area of rubbish and recycling in the next few years and I'm sure you can appreciate it is an important matter which can impact on our everyday lives, therefore we are keen to keep people informed of the latest activities.
